How to Properly Install a Construction Hoist

Construction hoists play a pivotal role on construction sites, responsible for vertically transporting materials and personnel to designated floors. To ensure the safety and efficiency of construction hoists, proper installation steps are particularly important. Below is a detailed guide suitable for publishing on a website about how to install a construction hoist.

I. Preliminary Preparations

  1. Clean the Foundation Surface: Ensure that the installation area's foundation surface is clean and free of debris and obstacles.

  2. Inspect Equipment: Check that all components of the hoist are intact, including foundation bolts, standard sections, lifting cages, transmission trolleys, etc.

II. Base and Foundation Installation

  1. Install the Base: Position the base and pass the foundation bolts through the base holes, connecting them to the reserved holes in the foundation. Ensure the base is level and fill any gaps under the base, then tighten the foundation bolts.

  2. Install Side Fences: Connect the side fences to the base, followed by the rear fence and side fences in sequence. Then install the power cabinet door frame and tighten the safety fence bolts.

III. Lifting Cage and Outer Cage Installation

  1. Install the Lifting Cage: Use lifting equipment to hoist the cage into position. Ensure the cage is stable and level during installation.

  2. Install the Outer Cage: Use a tower crane to lift the outer cage door and connect it to the outer cage, securing all outer cage bolts. Then install the counterweight runway for the outer cage and adjust the entire outer cage to be level.

IV. Transmission Trolley and Motor Installation

  1. Install the Transmission Trolley: Prepare the transmission trolley connecting pins and related tools, and check whether the brake device at the end of the transmission motor is released. Then use a crane to lift the transmission trolley smoothly, insert it into the standard section, and connect it to the lifting cage.

  2. Install the Motor: Loosen the brake device bolts on the transmission motor and check for effectiveness, then install the motor rain cover.

V. Standard Section and Guide Frame Installation

  1. Install Standard Sections: Clean the ends of the standard section pipes and the tooth strip pins, adding a small amount of lubricating grease. Then use a lifting pole to lift the standard section onto the top of the lifting cage and stabilize it, securing it with bolts.

  2. Install the Guide Frame: As the guide frame is continuously heightened, attach wall-mounted brackets simultaneously, and check the verticality of the guide frame installation. The installation of the wall-mounted system should proceed simultaneously with the addition of guide frame sections.

VI. Safety Devices and Accessory Installation

  1. Install Buffer Springs: Install the buffer spring base and add buffer springs.

  2. Install Limit Stoppers: Install the lower limit stopper, lower extreme limit stopper, upper limit stopper, and upper extreme limit stopper to ensure the lifting cage safely stops during operation.

VII. Commissioning and Inspection

  1. Commission the Transmission System: Check that the transmission system operates normally and that the brake device is effective.

  2. Check Verticality: Measure the verticality of the guide frame and outer cage door frame using a level or plumb bob to ensure compliance with specified requirements.

  3. Safety Inspection: Conduct a safety inspection of the entire hoist to ensure all components are securely installed and free from looseness and damage.

VIII. Precautions

  1. Professional Operation: The entire installation process should be performed by professionals to ensure safety and quality.

  2. Adhere to Specifications: Strictly follow the installation specifications for the construction hoist, and do not arbitrarily change installation steps or components.

  3. Regular Inspections: The construction hoist should undergo regular maintenance and inspections during use to ensure it remains in good condition.

By following these steps, you can correctly install a construction hoist and ensure its safety and efficiency. If you have any questions or need assistance during the installation process, please consult professional construction personnel or manufacturer technical support.
